…but i watched “million dollar baby” last night. holy shit.
yeeeeesh FINALLY. good to have you back.
nim:
It’s been a good 7 months since my last post, but I figure I’ll give this another shot, ideally with a trolley full of comrades aboard, we can get some mystery dialogue going.
Andddd ready get set go.
structures class was particularly grueling today, so my mind started wandering off and before i knew it i had two decent verses with zero music attached. so i’m just about ready to grab the ol’ guitar and stitch together a song. more to come, hopefully soon.
also, my latest Craigslist obsession: vintage tube amps. i know they’re freaking expensive, but man. a heart can yearn.
…if i had to put those episodes in order, it would go something like this:
for all of The Simpsons fans out there, what are some of your favorites? just curious.
“Homer, who is Homer? My name is Guy Incognito.”
this is from one of my Top 10 favorite episodes, Fear of Flying, along with (in no particular order):
not gonna lie, had to Wikipedia a couple of those for their proper titles. gosh i love summer.
Greetings, good man, might I trouble you for a drink?
“Modern Mystery” - SSLYBY
for those in the dark who need some enlightenment. or for those in the know who want to totally rock out.
listening to “broom” and “pershing” non-stop to psych myself up for their show tonight. AHHHHHCANNOTWAIT.
just got back from watching this movie in 3D which, i’ve decided, is the only way to watch movies. i didn’t think that pixar could make their movies any more technically impressive — and then they did. well done.
sidenote: if the last harry potter movie ends up being in 3D, i think my head will explode.
(point)
planted my basil, cilantro, and tomato plants about 15 minutes before it started raining.
first year of architecture school.
sidenote: how f-ing cool is it that the White House has a Flickr account? (p.s. - it helps that the Obamas are just so gosh darn photogenic).
so i’ve been averaging 2-3 hours a sleep a night for the last week as i reach the final stretch of my first year of arch school. at this point, i am trying any and every method to stay awake and alert since i still have about 6812735672 things left to do. even my upbeat music puts me to sleep, so i’ve started listening to free podcasts off of iTunes, one in particular called “Stuff You Should Know”. it’s been around for a while, so there are a ton of episodes to choose from - i just download the ones that seem interesting to me.
i just finished one entitled “Is Sleep That Important?” (i’m gonna guess the answer is…..yes), and learned about one particularly disturbing study in which lab rats were kept intentionally awake to see the effects of sleep deprivation (the researcher would actually poke the rat when it started to doze off - horrible, i know).
even more horrible? these rats, which would normally live 3 years, died within 3 weeks. hmm.
FACT: nothing in the world puts me in a better mood than SSLYBY’s “Modern Mystery”.
